Blackout 2004: The Zombies Take UCCB
Yes, this fine day the power went out in much of the CBRM. I myself was at school, the UCCB,
when it happened. I didn’t think much of it, as stuff like this happens... but not like this. Here’s
what went down. Don’t let the title spoil things for you...
Things started off simply enough. The lights went out, and everyone pretty much had one idea:
get down to the table, and enjoy the break off classes. Good times were had by all.
See?! There’s the lights out!
All we had to go by were the crappy emergency lights, and the fact that it was still at least a bti
sunny outside. But, there was nothing to panic about. This was just a thing that happened.
Construction and stuff was happening, and someone hit a wire or something... or at least that’s
what we thought. Boy were we wrong. The power was out for an entirely different reason... an
EVIL reason! But, by the time we figured it out, it was way too friggin’ late!
Yes, Zombies had taken over UCCB! Who knew that the living undead were that close to our
university! That, or they got on the bus and arrived after a while. But if that was the case, why
the hell didn’t anyone try to stop them?! Anyways, that’s not important. The important thing
was that Kris was the first to go (well, that’s not so much “important” so much as “less not-
important”). Yes, soon he was taken by the poorly edited creature, with a taste for brains! Why
he went for Kris, none of us will ever know...
Having his brains freshly munched upon, and the jacket literally eatten directly off his back, it took no time for him to become a zombie himself!
Sweet merciful crap! Brent, who was apparently completely oblivious to the monster eating
Kris, was the next victim of this unknown curse. Kris went straight for the guts this time.
Would Brent too turn into a zombie? Only time will tell!
Yup! He did! Here he is trying to thwart Dr. Todd Pettigrew (who nobody knew was also a
great hunter of Zombies... works well for us, eh?), who was trying to thwart Kris, who had just
become the “head-zombie” as the original one had to leave, as he was crappily added. These last 2 pictures have been done much better! w00t! Todd’s
only weapon? A common tack! A tack?! Come on! This story is just getting stupid... How
could ya stop zombies with a tack?
Well, apparently like that. I dunno, I actually missed it. I had arrived late, and thus was horribly
confused by all the dead bodies lying around, covered in blood and brains. Ignore the people in
the background who look perfectly calm - they’re just in shock and a state of disbelieve! Yes,
that will do.
When the power came, it became clear that the whole thing was just a fun thing to do to waste
some time before we went and carved pumpkins. It did actually waste a fair bit of time, and
created something stupid to show the whole world as well! Brent and Kris were fine, and we all lived
happily ever after!
... Except for the fact that it turns out in an unrelated instance that Kris actually WAS a zombie!
Yeah. So, he ended up eating Brent’s brain before Brent even knew what was going on. Brent
didn’t rise again either. He was just dead, having his brain eaten. I gotta admit, I didn’t see this
one coming. But hey, leaves loads of room for a sequel, don’t ya think? Eh? Eh? Maybe? We’ll see.
It's all so ironic that something like this should happen around Halloween, isn't it? It woulda been way
weirder had it happened just before like, I dunno, St. Patrick's Day or something.
