MySpace is the biggest piece of shit, ever.
I mean that statement in a few ways. For one, it’s really awful quality. I mean, it would make sense for everyone to have it if it were decent. I remember when Geocities was HUGE, it was kinda annoying, but hell - I had one. You could actually do some stuff with it. With MySpace, it’s “okay, here’s the format you have to work with... it’s ugly as hell, and has no room for improvement... enjoy.” The other reason, as I mentioned, everyone has one so it’s literally the BIGGEST most widely spread piece of shit, ever. The plague and illiteracy have nothing on MySpace. Actually no, there’s plenty of illiteracy on MySpace. We could use a good plague on it now that I think about it...
It’s to the point that even things that SHOULD have real webpages now resort to using MySpace. Bands that have real webpages use MySpace as their “news” page. Dunno why. It’s not like “www.myspace.com/shittyturdfags” is any easier to remember than “www.theShittyTurdFags.com.” But hell, that makes at least a little sense. I mean, for the most part MySpace is used for music and showing off how you look when you take a picture of herself in the mirror wearing band shirts. What makes little-to-no sense is that movies are using the damn thing now! That’s just retarded. Here’s the logic of the marketing people on this one:
“We need people to come see this movie... hmm... let’s put it up on the World Wide Web! Only, when we do it, let’s put it somewhere that you can’t tell the difference between it and a webpage a 9 year old made about xPuNcTuTiOnKiLlSmEpErIoDXxXx!” Yes, I’m sure that band exists somewhere. Check MySpace. It’ll be in the list right before the new James Bond movie site.
So why did this happen? Well, the best reason I can think of is that people are lazy. People are disgustingly lazy. They don’t feel like taking the few hours it would take to make a nice page, so they just slap some poorly spelled info and a few pics on MySpace and they’re done. And then what happens if they actually HAVE a nice website? Everyone links to the damn MySpace! Frig!
